THE INSIDE TRACK 99X AND All The Hits Q100 INTERNSHIP PROGRAM 2007
MARKETING AND PROMOTIONS DEPARTMENT

The Marketing and Promotions Department generates the images of the stations. Marketing includes the appearance of collateral material, special events, projects and branding. It also involves the 99X Freeloader and Q100 Insider direct marketing projects as well as 99X.com, AllTheHitsQ100.com and other Internet projects. Promotions is responsible for the stations appearances and contests. The Marketing and Promotions Department is charged with building a contemporary hip perception from the marketplace's reality.

The Marketing and Promotions Department internship runs for approximately three weeks. The student reports to the Director of Marketing and Promotions or the Promotions Manager. Activities and duties are established by the Director, are generally outside of the regular 9a-5p work hours and may include:

  • Initial meeting with the Director to schedule the program, receive a meeting list, meet the staff and get an overview of the department
  • Attend promotions meetings
  • Attend remotes and appearances to receive training on equipment and how to set up the vans, Marti, PA system, banners, signage and "live" set
  • Participate in van hits
  • Attend concerts, listening parties, movie premieres and live performances
  • Assemble prize packs and giveaway
  • Create prize winner sheets
  • Assemble contest boxes, registration blanks and similar collateral material
  • Write appearance calendar promos
  • Conduct phone research to update Freeloader / Q100 Insider database, code applications and recruit
